There was no love lost between newly appointed Impala Saracens head coach Mitch Ocholla and his immediate former employers Nakuru RFC during the two sides’ plate semi-final clash which ended in a 22-12 win for the tournament’s hosts Impala on 5th October, 2019.
Impala trailed 10-12 at the break but return from the shades as arguably the much better side after restraining their opponents to no points while scoring two tries themselves to secure the victory.
The home side’s tries were scored by Ronnie Omondi, Quinto Oongo, Frank Aduda and Mark Kwemoi with Mark Kwemoi converting Aduda’s try while Gramwel Bunyasi and Ken Mwangi touched down for Nakuru with flyhalf Fredrick Odongo adding the conversion to Mwangi’s try. As a result, Impala will face Nondies, who defeated Blak Blad 29-20 in the second plate semi-final fixture.
