Kcb produced a stellar performance to secure their third successive Floodlit Championship trophy after seeing off Oilers in the finals.

Austin Sikutwa started off the game with a penalty to give Menengai Oilers an early lead. Austin Sikutwa who had previously guided the team with a win against Resolution Impala saracens and Kenya harlequins was no match for the defending champions as he was contained by the bankers defense.

Defending champions enjoyed a long spell of possession in the first 20 minutes of the game but they were not able to salvage any point. The Bankers missed a to level the scores after their penalty went  wide. They later on opened the account after Samuel Asati gave Mike Kimwele an excellent pass on the  outside to dive over for the first try of the match. Isaac Njoroge was unable to add the extras as the game went for  half time.

After the interval ,Substitute Levy Amunga bagged a penalty with Oilers being punished for not releasing the ball inside their 22. The clash was interrupted for minutes due to lighting issue but play resumed minutes later. Shaban came in and immediately scored a try for the bankers to extend their lead.

Oilers cut the gap to seven points with a penalty but KCB restored parity with a drop goal from Levy amunga  to maintain their 7 points lead. Oilers once again hit the target from the tee to trail 16-9. Oilers would knock in their own territory and KCB overpowered them in the scrum, shoving their way to score the game’s third try. Levy Amunga would add the extras to seal the game at 23-9 with a win for the bankers and successive defending their third title.
