The Resolution Impala Saracens Boks backline defence will ask itself very difficult questions after it gave KCB a 14-0 headstart after only 6 minutes of play. Impala’s Hannington Mmbaka scored at the 43rd minute, but the conversion attempt by Brian Opar went wide. KCB’s Stafford Abeka pounced on a loose ball and coasted into the try box. Osumba converted with ease. Impala’s Bernard Rotich scored from behind the scrum. Opar found the sweet-spot on the ensuing conversion attempt. KCB full-back – Elphas Adunga split the posts in the 63rd minute. Referee Duncan Kioko awarded Impala a penalty try after David Moenga was tackled without the ball in the KCB try-box. Many fans would have hoped that Impala could use the remainder 10 minutes in conjuring a surprise, but poor ball handling gifted KCB the go-forward ball. A penalty deep inside Impala territory gifted KCB with an extra 3 points.
