The Resolution Impala Saracens head coach Mitch Ocholla has changed three players to run on against Blak Blad in this Saturday’s Kenya Cup fixture. In the match to be played at Impala Club, Steve ‘Security’ Otieno is to make his league starting lineup of the Gazelles. He replaces veteran number eight Duncan Ekasi. Ekasi swops places with Security on the wood in a tactical change.
George Okowa comes into second centre to replace last weekend’s intercept try scorer against Nondescripts, Israel Soi. Soi is unavailable due to personal commitments. Mark Kwemoi replaces Kenya fullback Anthony ‘AJO’ Odhiambo. AJO was awarded the Ogeto Gecheo Memorial Award and man of the match last weekend but aggravated a knee injury. Kwemoi is himself just fully recovered from a similar injury.
On the bench, Resolution Impala makes three further changes beyond Ekasi.
Soita Wekesa comes in as a loosehead prop reserve. He replaces Kenya reserve tighthead Ian Masheti who moves one up to his regular position, as reserve. Masheti replaces Joshua Momanyi while Xavier Kipng’etich replaces Sammy Kimakwa. Momanyi and Kimakwa start the 2.00pm Eric Shirley Shield fixture against the same opponent.
‘’We’ll approach (Blak) Blad slightly different from the Nondies match. They enjoy giving the ball air and run quite a bit. We’ll have to play our tight ball much better and nail our setpieces,” said Ocholla. “They have been a slippery opponent and will be taking lots of courage from running Stanbic Mwamba close, last weekend”
The Resolution Insurance backed side lies 5th on the Kenya Cup log after the unique weekend where all the six winners got a bonus point. The Cup match begins at 4.00pm with gate charges at KSh. 300.
